Rift Valley: Lake Nakuru National Park

The Rift Valley is the heart and soul of the East of Africa. It runs for an amazing 6000km, starting in the Middle East and ending in Mozambique at the tip of African continent. In Kenya the Rift Valley brings some natural wonders, one of them being the great soda lake of Lake Nakuru. Designated as a National Park, it is a haven for some of Africa’s great wildlife, especially the White Rhino that is critically endangered. The soda lake is home to a vast number of water birds and famous for its huge gatherings of Pink Flamingos. What an experience this was, first time camping too in true wilderness. No fences, just ourselves and the animals, quite un-nerving when Lions prowl.
